You can email evidence to the NHS about any COVID-19 vaccinations you or your child have had outside England so your vaccination record can be updated.
It can take up to 10 working days to update your record.
Who can use it:
You can email the NHS and get your vaccination record updated if you or your child:
- are aged 5 years or over – for children aged 5 to 15 years a parent or guardian needs to email
- are registered with an NHS England registered GP
- have an NHS number
- have an email address on your GP record – check with the GP surgery if you're not sure
Which vaccinations can be added to your vaccination record
You or your child can only have these vaccinations from outside of England added to your vaccination record:
- Beijing Institute of Biological Products (Sinopharm BIBP) – not Wuhan
- Bharat Biotech (Covaxin)
- CanSino (Convidecia)
- Gamaleya (Sputnik V)
- Institute of India (Covishield)
- Johnson & Johnson (Janssen)
- Moderna (Spikevax)
- Nuvaxovid (Novavax)
- Oxford/AstraZeneca (Vaxzevria)
- Pfizer/BioNTech (Comirnaty), including paediatric and BA1 – not BA4.5
- Serum Institute of India (Covovax)
- SinoVac (CoronaVac)
- Medicago
How it works
You need to email the NHS with evidence of your identity and the COVID-19 vaccinations you or your child have had outside of England to get your vaccination record updated.
To do this, email scwcsu.internationalvaccine@nhs.net with all the following:
- an image of your passport
- an image of your vaccination certificate – this needs to show each dose you want adding to your vaccination record, if you have separate certificates for each dose you need an image of each
- your NHS number
- the postcode you are registered with on your GP record – check with the GP surgery if you're not sure
If you are emailing to update your child's vaccination record, provide their information.
You must send the email from the same email address that is on your GP record – check with the GP surgery if you're not sure.
The maximum file size you can submit is 10Mb and the evidence must be in English.
Which image formats can you send
You can submit images of your passport and vaccine certificate in any of these formats:
- JPEG/JPG
- PNG
- TIFF
How to take a photo of your passport
To take a good photo of your passport make sure:
- you have not covered any part of the page
- all 4 edges of the page are in your photo
- you can clearly see your face and all the text
- there's no shine from a light or window

Sharing your information with the NHS using this service is done at your own risk.
You should check:
- the email account you use provides security you're happy with
- you have correctly entered the email address before pressing send
The data you provide by email will be retained by the NHS and used to update your vaccination record.
