Free vitamin D supplements for people at high risk from coronavirus (COVID-19)

Service closed

The service for applying for free vitamin D supplements has now closed.

During autumn and winter, everyone is advised to take vitamin D to keep their bones and muscles healthy and to support their general health.

This offer of free vitamin D was only for people at high risk from coronavirus (COVID-19), also called "clinically extremely vulnerable" people.

Vitamin D is particularly important for this group of people as they may not have got enough vitamin D from sunlight last spring and summer when they were advised to stay indoors (shield).

What happens next

If you applied for free supplements before 21 February 2021, the service will check you're on the shielded patients list of people at high risk from COVID-19.

If you're on the shielded patients list

The partner provider will send out the supplements to people who applied and are on the shielded patients list.

If you gave an email address, you will also get an email to let you know your application was successful. The email will include contact details for any questions.

Vitamin D supplements are not suitable for everyone. Check how to take vitamin D supplements safely on GOV.UK.

If you are not on the shielded patients list

If you applied but are not on the shielded patients list, you will not receive the supplements.

If you gave an email address, you will get an email to let you know that your application was not successful.
