Overview

Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust provides acute healthcare services for 420,000 people across Mansfield, Ashfield, Newark, Sherwood and parts of Derbyshire and Lincolnshire.

The Trust was formed in 2001 gaining Foundation Trust status in 2007.

We have more than 4,500 people working across three hospital sites - King’s Mill, Newark and Mansfield Community. We also run some services from Ashfield Community Health Village in Kirkby.

In the last financial year we treated 407,000 people as outpatients, 100,000 attended the King’s Mill Emergency Department and more than 21,000 patients were seen and treated at the Minor Injuries Unit at Newark Hospital. At the end of 2016 the unit underwent a £700,000 refurbishment and was re-opened as an Urgent Care Centre.

We continue to develop our strategic partnership with Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust, which is helping to bring together expertise and opportunities from across both Trusts.

Our focus is on delivering the best possible patient care with the aim of becoming an "outstanding" Trust. We are already delivering best practice in many clinical areas across our three hospital sites and our services are rated as "Good" by the CQC for being safe and caring.
